Thoubal, November 24 2022:
Job Card Holders' Committee convener Md Abdul Gaffar has dismissed as baseless allegation levelled by one Md Imran Shah, who is said to be the PRO of Andro MLA Thounaojam Shyamkumar, of siphoning off money of job card beneficiaries of Changamdabi Gram Panchayat.
Addressing a press at Yairipok Changamdabi Makha Leikai on Thursday, Gaffar termed the allegation against the Changamdabi GP as very unfortunate.
The claim that government transferred more than Rs 2 crore into the bank accounts of job card holders for this year is also totally false, he asserted.
Abdul Gaffar also alleged that Imran Shah, who was the pradhan of Changamdabi GP from 2012 to 2017, is attempting to take undue political mileage by defaming the present pradhan and members.
Legal action would be taken against him for trying to slander the name of the pradhan and members.
He should publicly clarify on the matter at the earliest, Gaffar demanded and further claimed that Imran Shah during his tenure as Changamdabi GP pradhan had opened accounts at Post Office, Yairipok Branch; Canara Bank, Thangal Bazar Branch and Allahabad Bank, Porompat Branch to embezzle the deposited money of MGNREGS job card holders and is involved in various criminal activities.
Hence, the public should not get swayed by his false allegation against Changamdabi GP, he further emphasised.
On the other hand, Changamdabi GP up-pradhan Md Riyajtiddin clarified that the allegation of corruption against the GP in connection with job card holders is not based on truth.
All the works related to MGNREGS were done transparently and all the job card beneficiaries received their full wages as deserved.
