FESOK raises allegations against teacher

A Government teacher has been found teaching at private schools as a guest lecturer, alleged a student body asking the Government to terminate him from service.
Recruited as a Government teacher in 2012, he has never taken a class in Government schools, but was found taking classes at private schools as a guest lecturer, alleged Federal Students' Organization Kangleipak (FESOK).
According to FESOK, the teacher has been identified as Mayanglambam Roshnikumar Singh of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, Imphal East district.
At its office at Kakwa Naorem Leikai today, FESOK vice president Ronald Kenedy alleged that after he was recruited as a Government teacher in 2012, M Roshnikumar was posted at the Wakan Upper Primary School in Saikul, Kangpokpi district.
Since the day he submitted a joining report, he has never conducted classes at the school.
When investigated, it was known that Roshnikumar had hired a person to cover for him and he occasionally visit this person to give him salary.
Further, he was found engaged in several private schools as guest lecturer, Ronald claimed.
This has come to light amid the Government taking up its School Fagathanshi Mission.
The Government and the Education Department's failure to notice such teachers is unfortunate, he said.
Such teachers are the cause for the shabby education at Government schools.
He should be immediately terminated from his post, Ronald said.
Asking the Government to take immediate action against the teacher, FESOK also urged private schools not to engage Government teachers.
If Government teachers are found engaged in private schools knowingly, then FESOK would take befitting action against such institutions, it said.
