Assam Rifles promotes Sangai Festival

To promote Manipur Sangai Festival, Loktak Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) established an Assam Rifles Pavilion at the Moirang Khunou venue in Bishnupur district where various programmes of the Festival are being held since November 21 .
According to PRO IGAR (S), the Assam Rifles Pavilion is showcasing the glorious history and unconditional contribution of gallant soldiers of Assam Rifles being the oldest Para Military Force of the nation.
It is also exhibiting the numerous civic action and development programme executed by the Assam Rifles in the state.
The Pavilion has been a show stopper in the festival as fascinated and curious youth including students' are visiting the Pavilion to see the weapon display, the PRO said, adding that the opportunity is also being utilised by the Loktak Battalion to impart the knowledge to local youth regarding various avenues available to join the Armed Forces through Technical Entry Scheme (TES), National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA) as well as Agniveer Scheme.
Young students are also being informed regarding admissions in Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Sainik Schools and Military Schools.
The Assam Rifles Pavilion has been visited by many militaries as well as civil dignitaries and witness exuberant footfall of more than 600 plus daily, said the PRO.
