Audit Week 2022 concludes

The valedictory function of 'Audit Week2022' was held today at AG Office, Babupara.
The Audit Week 2022 was jointly organised by Principal Accountant General (A&E) Manipur and Principal Accountant General (Audit).
The valedictory function was graced by Principal Accountant General (A&E) Manipur, John K.Sellate; former IAS, RK Nimai; Manipur Public Service Commission Chairman, Laisram Angam Chand Singh; Social Scientist Dhanabir Laishram and Principal Accountant General (Audit) Manipur, Athikho Chalai as the presidium members.
During the Audit Week, a number of programmes including essay competition, football match, quiz competition and cleanliness drive were conducted.
As a part of the programme, prizes were distributed to the winners of these events.
It may be noted that November 16 is observed as Audit Day or Audit Diwas to commemorate the appointment of Edmund Drummond as the first Auditor General of India and subsequently Audit Week is observed to raise awareness among the public about the institution of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Speaking at the occasion, John K Sellate called upon the employees of Audit and account institutions to rededicate themselves to work for promoting transparency and accountability to deliver effective services to the public.
He also maintained that the role of audit and account is important since it provides inputs and constructive ideas to the Government for efficient services and governance.
He also enumerated the role and responsibilities of audit and accounts institutions.
Further he stressed on the need to strengthen the partnership with auditors and stakeholders by working in close interaction to promote the common goal of attaining socio-economic development of the people.
