Imphal, June 06 2023:
The killing of a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier and injuries sustained by two Assam Rifles personnel in a shootout at Serou, Kakching district on Tuesday were like-ly to be carried out by Kuki militants from Chin State of Myanmar instead of Kuki militants under Suspension of Operation (So0), opened a woman who fled Moreh and is putting up in a relief camp at Khongjom.
While pointing out Kuki militants under So0 under-stand that attacking security forces could incur the wrath of the Indian government and lead to withdrawal of the agreement, she said in such a scenario many of the wishes of the Kuki armed outfits would remain unfulfilled.
As injuries and fatalities have occurred amongst the security forces deployed by the central government, it is a wait-and-watch game to see what action the Indian government will take, she further said.
On May 3, Kuki militants killed many Meitei civilians but the double engine BJP government feigned igno-rance which is unfortunate.
If the same violence were to occur in states other than the northeast, speedy action and solution would have been witnessed.
The recent train accident in Odisha showed the Prime Minister visiting the site and extending all pos-sible help.
But, he (PM) is yet to make any statement with regard to the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians in Manipur by Kuki militants till date.
This has clearly shown his perfunctory attitude to-wards the people of Manipur,
the woman added.
