Ensure students can continue with their education

EK Higher Secondary School secretary Pangeijam Saratchandra has categorically asserted that just as students in many war-torn countries continue to receive education even in times of crisis, the same should be carried out in Manipur.
He made the statement while speaking at a press conference held at the premises of the school located at Sangakpham today.
Saratchandra commented on the poor fate of the students of Manipur who had to deviate from normal schooling experience and switch to online education due to Covid-19 for 2 years.

This is really unfortunate for the State as these students will be the future of Manipur, he said.
In many war-torn and strife-ridden countries of the world, despite the violence and carnage, the education sector is largely allowed to function smoothly.
Foregoing all ethnic lines, the State Government must make arrangements to ensure that the education of children continues without any hindrances.
Further, he appealed to the relevant authorities such as the Council, Board and Manipur University to allow the transfer of students from one educational institution to another so that students can pick a school/college in their vicinity that will be safer for secretary them and continue their studies.
He added that the State must draft a policy to ensure that the displaced students are provided with facilities for free education, boarding, uniform and other essential items such as books etc until their displaced families are properly resettled.
In this regard, he informed that EK Higher Secondary School will be providing free education and boarding facilities to some selected students from the State.
