NIT Manipur in top 100

Imphal, June 06 2023: National Institute of Technology (NIT)-Manipur has joined the league of top 100 engineering colleges in the country as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 ranking declared yesterday by the Ministry of Education in a grand event at New Delhi.

As per the newly released ranking, Manipur's NIT which is one of the premier engineering colleges in the region and ranked 108 in the previous year's ranking showed much improvement and climbed to 95th rank this year.

It is a commendable achievement for the institute to break into the top 100 ranking considering the fact that the institute has not received a single amount for infrastructural development since 2017, said the Registrar of NIT Manipur in a statement.

The institute has been putting in all its effort to make the best use of the limited resources available, it said.

The research publications of the faculty in journals with, high impact factors along with several patents being granted to the institute has also contributed to the improvement in the ranking, it said.

The Placement Cell of NIT Manipur has also been getting good placement for its students.

The highest pay package of Rs 47 lakh per annum for this year was offered by Amazon, while the average pay package for this year is 9.6 lakh per annum with the placement percentage of more than 83 percent, � it added.

Noting that several students have also opted for higher, studies in reputed institutes, the Director in-charge and Registrar of the institute also thanked and congratulated all th,e, faculty and staff of the institute for their valuable contribu--, tions to make NIT Manipur among top best 100 engineering colleges in the country.

The Registrar also appealed to the Minister of Education to release the grants-in-aid for development of infrastructure for further improving the rank of the institute.
