Meet resolves to maintain peace, neutrality

A public leaders' consultative meeting was held at UBC community hall, here on 'Tuesday to deliberate on issues per-taining to state's integ-rity in the context of the on-going clashes between Meitei and the Kuki com-munities.
The meeting organised by Joint Tribes Council of Zeme Naga Council, Liangmai Naga Council, Rongmei Naga Council and Inpui Union was at-tended by public leaders, village authorities and women wing leaders.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the meeting, JTC convenor GN Aku informed that the meeting was held to make the people of Tamenglong aware of the present sit-uation in the state and to promote peace and understanding among all communities.
Stating that there should be no room for confusion and enmity among Zeliangrong peo-ple, he said that no one should mislead the corn-munity with biased and misleading information.
While assuring that JTC will accord top priority to protection of Zelian-grong Jnpui inhabited areas, Aku also urged the Zeliangrong people to maintain neutrality at this critical juncture.
Mention may be made that similar meetings were also conducted in Noney and Khoupum ar-eas by JTC.
