MLAs reach out people in distress

Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam on Tuesday ex-tended monetary assistance to those who suffered injuries in the ongoing violence and are being treated at various hospitals.
The MLA extended a mon-etary assistance of Rs 5000 each to 26 injured persons admitted at RIMS hospital, four at Raj Medicity, five at Little Clinic and six at JNIMS Hospital.
He also extended financial aid to the Volun-tary Help Unit Committee of RIMS and Relief Committee of JNIMS.
Speaking on the sidelines, Shyam condemned the in-discriminate attack by Kuki militants under SoO and Burmese Kuki militants as well as the support extended by Assam Rifles to the for-mer.
He further condemned those trying to draw political mileage amid suffering of the people.
He urged all not be disheartened but work to-gether to protect the integrity of Manipur.
Wangoi MLA Kh Loken, meanwhile, distributed essential items to the dis-placed people taking shel-ter at Thambal Leima High School, tram Siphai.
The MLA also met with the inmates in the relief camp who already mostly displaced from Moreh and Kangla-tongbi and promised them all help from his side.
Along with extending monetary help to the relief camp, the MLA also provided edibles including rice and dal and books, stationery and sports items for the students.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force provided drinking water to the inmates of the relief camp opened at Naorem Birahari College.
According to a release, Se-nior Citizens Club Manipur informed that the BSF handed over medicines and sanitary pads to the club for distri-bution to the inmates of the relief camp.
On the other-hand, mem-bers of Sagolband Peace and Relief Committee along with Sagolband MLA RK Imo vis-ited the residence of (late) Laithangbam Noren who was killed at Phayeng in an attack by Kuki militant attack, at Nepra Menjor and met the family members on Tuesday.
The MLA through the Com-mittee handed over Rs 2 lakh to family of the deceased.
Family members of the de-ceased also met chief min-ister N Biren during which the latter assured a suitable government job to an eligible member of the family.
MLA RK Imo also visited RIMS hospital to meet one Salam Ratan from Sagol-band Kuraomakhong, who is undergoing treatment af-ter sustaining injuries in the conflict, and handed over a sum of Rs 50,000 .
The MIA also handed over Rs 25,000 to Voluntary Help Unit Committee RIMS and also met with the gunshot survivor Thounaojam Rajku-mar of Sugnu Awang Leikai who was found alive after 7 days and handed over Rs 10,000 .
Speaking to the media, the MLA assured to bear all the treatment expenses of the injured persons hailing from Sagolband AC even if hospitals concerned do not provide free treatment.
He also expressed his gratitude towards RIMS authority for giving free treatment to every injured person undergoing treatment in the hospital.
