Assam Rifles units conduct lectures

Imphal, July 11 2022:
Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a lecture on importance of education and also imparted career counselling for students of Thoubal district on Monday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the lecture stressed on the fact that an educated society is a progressive society and the students encouraged to make maximum use of the educational facilities available and to pursue higher education that would further lead to better employment opportunities and contribute to overall development of society.
A total of 35.locals including students attended the programme.
Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) also conducted a lecture on women empowerment for the students of Universal Student Academy and Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Imphal West district on Monday.
The aim of the meeting was to spread awareness of the numerous schemes provided by Government of India for empowering the women among the school children and meira paibi groups.
A total of 80 students of Universal Student Academy and 30 members of Apunba Meira Paibi Lup participated in the meeting.
On the other hand, Modi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a lecture on drug abuse as part of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) for the youth and local populace of Molphibung and Subampa village in Chandel district on Monday.
The lecture was conducted to spread awareness against drug abuse and prevention on the use of drugs.
A total of 50 villagers attended the event and appreciated the effort of Assam Rifles in making Chandel district a drug free area.
