Condolence meetings held

Imphal, July 11 2022:
JN Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) condoled the sudden demise of Manipuri 'Nata-Sankirtana' (Duhar Cholom) and (Pung) artiste Taorem Yaiskul Singh, who breathed his last on July 7.In a release, JNMDA stated that a condolence meeting was held at its auditorium on Monday with director P Bilas Singh in the chair and attended by institute's office staff, faculty members, artistes and students.
The meeting observed a two-minute silence in memory of the late Guru and also prayed for departed soul to rest in peace along with shar ing the grief of the bereaved family.
A half-holiday was also declared by the Academy in his honour, it added.
Meanwhile, Manipur Dramatic Union (MDU) has condoled the passing away of its long-time artiste and life member Khundrakpam Thoiba Singh on July 8.According to MDU general secretary T Priyobarta Singh, a condolence meeting was organised by MDU artistes/members on Monday at Union's auditorium during which the gathering ob served a two-minute silence and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace in its heavenly abode along with sharing the grief of the bereaved family members.
