Chancellor of Central Agricultural University Imphal visits campuses of constituent colleges, farms

The Chancellor of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, Padma Shree Dr S Ayyappan has visited the different campuses of the constituent colleges of CAU and farms today.
The Chancellor visited the College of Agriculture (COA), CAU to monitor the academic, research and extension activities.
During the visit at the college, an interaction programme was also held at the auditorium of the college where Padma Shree Dr S Ayyappan interacted with the students and faculty.
Later the Chancellor also visited the College of Food Technology, Lamphelpat at around 3:30 pm.
He was accompanied by Professor K Mamocha Singh, Registrar, CAU, Imphal, Professor RK Saha, Dean, College of Fisheries, Lembuchherra, Tripura and Professor Indira Sarangthem, Dean, College of Agriculture.

The Chancellor and the officials were received warmly by the Dean, College of Food Technology, Dr Ng Joykumar Singh along with the faculties, staff and students of the college.
During the visit, the Chancellor visited the laboratories and classrooms of the college.
He observed the practical activities of the students in the laboratories and expressed his satisfaction to the students for their dedicated efforts.
He also visited the classrooms, particularly the smart classroom of the college where interactive smart board is installed for convenience in online as well as offline classes.
Thereafter, Dr Ayyappan interacted with the students and faculties of the college.
During the interactive session, he gave a short deliberation on the food production and food innovation as a national cause to meet the food security issues faced by the country.
He highlighted the significance of establishing institutions like the College of Food Technology to face the challenges of food security and to come up with long term solutions.
While interacting with the students, the Chancellor listened attentively to the various issues raised by the students.
The students brought up matters concerning the academic, laboratory, hostel as well as exposure tours.
Faculties of the college too highlighted issues regarding space limitation, laboratory facility and faculty deficiency in the college for a smooth academic course.
The Chancellor also visited all the units of CAU NEC farms managed by the Directorate of Extension Education today.
He visited livestock units, fishery units, biofloc units etc and interacted with all the staff of the Directorate.
