Imphal, July 11 2022:
With reference to the order issued by Shiv Sena Manipur president N Tombi regarding expulsion of its three candidates who contested in the last assembly election namely Henglep AC candidate T Thangjalal Haokip alias TT Haokip, Keirao AC's Toijam Devananda and Phungyar AC's Ninghor Jajo, the three demanded thorough explanation for their expulsion and cautioned of filing defamation suit against the president if the party fails to explain.
Speaking to media persons at his New Lambulane residence here on Monday, TT Haokip confided that the three along with Sekmai Shiv Sena candidate Ranjit went to Delhi for a project.
Upon returning they went to the party's office, where M Tombi questioned them why they came to the office without his approval and used harsh words with sectarian tone against them.
While posing on what ground did the president expelled them from the party indefinitely, TT Haokip maintained that a show cause notice should be given first if they were to be expelled.
They did not go to Delhi for works of any other political party, he clarified.
Regarding the allegations levelled against them by M Tombi, who said that they tried to collect money from party's office, he demanded a definite proof be given of their withdrawing money from the party fund within five days.
It is unfortunate that the president enquired who Toijam Devananda was, when the latter had contested as Shiv Sena candidate in the election, TT Haokip said, adding that revealing the secrecy of candidate to other parties during election showed that he (Tombi) is not qualified to be the party president.
Moreover, Tombi failed to produce account statement of the election expenditures, he contended while pointed out that there was a situation where the party could not even field its candidates.
TT Haokip further accused Tombi of mishandling the party and trying to operate it at his own sweet will.
