MGWU pays tribute to GR jawan

Imphal, July 11 2022:
A team of Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union (MGWU) visited the Leplen village residence, Ukhrul district, of 11 GR (late) rifleman Tek Bahadur Thapa, who died in the Marangching landslide in Noney district and paid their respect to the departed soul on the occasion of his 'Shradha Ceremony' held on Monday.
According to a statement, the Union also assured the family of Tek Bahadur that they will render all possible help in any matter related to his family 's welfare including receiving his due compensation from the government.
MGWU also thanked the Manipur Gorkha Community Israel Self Help Group which provided monetary assistance of Rs 10,000 to his family which was handed over by the Union during the visit.
The Union was represented by MGWU general secretary Sitaram Kafle, vice president Sandesh Pathak, information and publicity secretary Vigyan Koirala, cultural secretary Meghnath Poudel, Dharmin Shiwakoti, Sher Bahadur Limbu and Prem Poudel during the visit, the statement added.
