'Covid' claims JCILPS convenor BK Moirangcha

After undergoing treatment for Covid-19 infection for long, Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) convenor BK Moirangcha has succumbed to post Covid complicacies around midnight Saturday.
He was 60 .
BK Moirangcha originally hailed from Kakching Bazaar Khunyao but was staying at Keishamthong Laisom Leirak.
He was also the president of All Manipur Ethno Socio Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) and convenor of Meitei Pangal Khunthok Ningsing Thouram Committee, People's Task Force for Covid-19 and JCILPS.
His lifeless body was brought to AMESCO office where representatives of civil society organisations paid their last respects.
Later, the last rite was performed at his birthplace.
Meanwhile, People's Task Force for Covid-19 publicity & propaganda in-charge M Angamba has deeply mourned the demise of BK Moirangcha.
In a statement, Angamba said that following the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the state, more than 40 organisations joined together on July 31, 2020 and formed the task force to fight the pandemic.
As the convenor BK Moirangcha took vital roles in organising awareness programmes in hill and valley areas of the state along with Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch; Indian Medical Association (IMA); Association of Health Care Providers India (AHPI), Manipur State Branch and local clubs.
In addition to these activities, late BK Moirangcha took important roles in various issues of the state, Angamba recalled, while lamenting that the demise of such important person is a huge loss for the state.
He also shared pain and grief of the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), All Manipur Ethno Social Cultural Organisation (AMESCO), Committee on Human Rights (COHR), Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM), All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Meira Paibi Welfare Association of Kangleipak (MEPWAK), International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA), Manipur Students' Federation (MSF), Leihou Khunai Kanba Luptin (LKKL) and United Meitei Pangal (Muslims) Organisation (UMPO) Manipur expressed deepest condolences over the sudden demise Bijoy Kumar popularly known as BK Moirangcha, who passed away on Saturday at JNIMS Hospital.
In separate releases, the civil societies recounted the tremendous contribution made by BK Moirangcha for the uplift of Manipuri society and stated that his sudden demise will be an irreparable loss to the society.
The bodies further prayed for the peaceful rest of the departed soul in the heavenly abode.
