Anti drug awareness / discussion programme conducted

As a part of its series of anti drug campaigns, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised an awareness programme cum public discussion on 'The role of public in curbing the rampant use of intoxicants during elections' at Jamia Mahmoodia Phoubakchao Komlakhong road today in association with Youth Development and Anti-Drug Committee.
The awareness cum discussion programme was conducted in view of the rising cases of pre-poll violence in connection with the ensuing State Legislative Assembly election owing to rampant use of drugs and other intoxicants in different assembly constituencies across the State, said a press release by CADA.
Today's programme was attended by Amir Khan Buyamayum, president, Youth Development and Anti Drug Committee, Maulana Ziwul Haque Qasmi-Naib Nazim Talimaat, Moulana Bashir Ahmad Qasmi-Nazim Talimaat and Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA as the presidium members while Geetchandra Mangang, Secretary General, CADA as the resource person.
The quarterly journal of CADA titled 'Health for Future', Volume I, Issue XXXIII was also released during today's programme and it contains many articles written by renowned persons which will be beneficial to many, added the press release.
It may be noted that CADA has been organising awareness campaigns, drive etc in various places of the State to prevent the use of drugs and other intoxicants and to educate the masses about its adverse effects.
