Imphal, February 06 2022:
While maintaining that revolutionaries too consume rice not grass, the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-Pro) has appealed to candidates not to lower the election propaganda to the level of one kilogram rice.
The PREPAK Pro also made it clear that the outfit does not snatch produces of farmers but sincerely takes a little amount of rice being provided for the people at subsidised rate by the 'adversary', Indian government.
This little quantity of rice too is being collected before reaching the powerful people and the outfit wouldn't hesitate to cease rice collection if it makes the poor suffer.
However, it is the gift of anti-people policy of law makers that poor sections of the society continue to suffer and weakening self-reliant thought, a PREPAK-Pro statement issued by its assistant publicity secretary Th Eshingchaoba said.
According to the secretary, the outfit launched revolutionary movement and fighting against the enemy by utilising their goods and money and not by looting gold and precious things from the people.
Apart from forcing people to depend for food on others by ruining prime paddy fields in the name of development, law makers never devise policy for double cropping, the outfit said and appealed to candidates contesting election not to convert meagre rice quota collected by the outfit as election propaganda.
While maintaining that bad communication and joblessness are not a result of collection of meagre quantity of rice by revolutionaries, the PREPAK-Pro statement pointed out some people who earned huge money through black marketing and contest election should not talk about distribution or non-distribution of subsidised rice but they should rather focus on reasonable agenda as election propaganda.
Such candidates need not campaign for election if the huge wealth they piled up illegally are sincerely utilised on barren paddy fields around them and for welfare of poor people, the outfit said and appealed to some wealthy candidates who snatched even land for forest deities, do business in the name of revolutionaries and indulge in illegal trade in collusion with police in Jiri to stop corrupting the people.
According to the PREPAK-Pro statement, revolutionaries join public movements launched on sensitive issues in close coordination with the people through over ground workers and no revolutionaries remain silent on big issues concerning the society.
It also appealed to all concerned to think for a moment about revolutionaries who left their respective homes as revolutionary fighter for more than 20/30 years and these revolutionaries do not eat grass but consume rice just like common people.
The outfit has no problem when candidates put the meagre rice collection as an election agenda and take it as referendum amongst contesting candidates, the PREPAK-Pro statement said and offered to revise or continue the policy based on result of the referendum.
