Imphal, February 06 2022:
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda has strongly refuted the allegations of corruption in issuing party ticket made by Wangkhei MLA Yumkham Erabot and called him a trader in the guise of politician.
Speaking at a felicitation function of ex-M LA of Kumbi assembly constituency S Bira held at Thambal Shanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek here on Sunday.
Sharda asserted that youth were not interested in politics as the politicians and the past governments could not encourage them.
But today, youth are taking keen interest in politics due to efforts put in by the BJP government.
Senior politicians should groom young politicians so as to leave the state in safe hands but some political heavyweights are still against such ideas, she opined.
Regarding the allegations of selling ticket at Rs 2 crore, buying high-end car and constructing palatial house as raised by MLA Y Erabot, she said that it is unfortunate for a senior politician to make such baseless allegations that could hurt the image and reputation of a person.
It is irresponsible of him to make such baseless allegations simply because he could not get the party's ticket, she said while urging the MLA to put his efforts towards grooming young politicians instead.
In his address, ex-MLA S Bira said that BJP is the only party that could steer the state towards the path of development and peace.
He could see significant differences in the governance between Congress and BJP, which is why he is joining the saffron party, Bira said.
Maintaining that BJP will wrest Kumbi seat in the upcoming state assembly election, he called upon the people of his constituency to support BJP.
