Observance of Iconic Week held at Irengband

As part of 'Observance of Iconic Week' being observed throughout the country since January 31 under the aegis of the Ministry of JalShakti, the road leading to Irengband High School and playground of the school were cleaned on Sunday.
Apart from conducting the cleanliness drive, dustbins were installed as part of Community Collective Activities programme.
The drive was jointly organised by Jal Jeevan Mission Kakching District Implementation Support agencies namely Alliance for Development Alternative Manipur (ADAM) Kakching, Sunday Eco Club Irengband, Village Water and Sanitation Committee Irengband and Irengband High School under the aegis of District Water and Sanitation Committee, Kakching district.
As part of the drive, a meet with international footballer Maisnam Linthoingambi was also held and presented her a PHED Manipur diary.
Later, a meet for Village Water and Sanitation Committee, Kakching district was held at Angaan Ching Eco Park and it was attended by PHED Kakching Division executive engineer RK Surendra and JJM, Kakching District Implementation Support Agency team leader ADAM secretary Surjit Kshetrimayum.
An online essay competition on the topics 'Efficient plastic waste management and clean environment' and 'Health and clean drinking water' was also conducted as part of Iconic Week observance.
In the category for class VI-VIII of the competition, JNV Bishnupur student Md Zunet Ahamed of Sora Mamang Leikai won the first prize while second and third prize were respectively bagged by Padma Ratna English School, Kakching students Kshetrimayum Ashis Singh of Kakching Makha Leikai and Thokchom Roshni Devi of Kakching Sumak Leikai.
In the class IX-XII category of the competition, Good Shepherd School, Kakching student Yengkhom Pralin Singh of Kakching bagged first prize while Meci Explorer Academy student Jiteshkumar Laitonjam of Irengband and Irengband High School student Thongam Premita Devi of Irengband bagged second and third prize respectively.
