Imphal, December 17 2015:
LPG distributor R&H, located in Imphal East district is no exception as far as manipulation of records regarding distribution of refills is concerned.
Whereas only consumers who made their bookings on October 1 and earlier were given refills, official records say that all consumers who made their bookings on December 16 and earlier have been issued refills.
Citing baffling revelations made by The Sangai Express in the course of its campaign "Wanted Cooking Gas, Not Laughing Gas", Cooking Gas Not Laughing Gas * Readers are urged to share their ugly experiences/ inconveniences with TSE in getting their quota of refilled LPG cylinders any consumers have started questioning the inaction of IOC even after how the distributors have been deceiving consumers have been exposed naked.
At present, R&H Indane Service has around 6562 active consumers out of whom 5934 consumers are DBTL consumers.
Again, out of the DBTL consumers, 80 consumers have received LPG refills more than the National average consumption which is seven refills.
Laishram Dillipkumar (consumer no 2622) has been issued 13 refills while 12 refills have been issued to Laishram Imoba (consumer no (CX15637063).Corresponding subsidy amounts of Rs 3599.82 and Rs 3239.43 have been transferred to their respective bank accounts.
Laishram Tampak Devi (consumer no CXI2378787) has been issued 11 refills and Rs 2898.40 has been credited to her bank account as corresponding subsidy.
10 refills each have been issued to four consumers, nine refills each to 20 consumers and eight refills each to 53 consumers.
However there are no official records about the number of refills received by the remaining 5850 consumers within the current financial year.
Absence or concealment of official records about LPG refills given to the 5850 consumers has raised a big question on the working principle of the particular distributor.
Nonetheless, its performance is rated excellent and it has been distributing 118.98 refills in a day on the average, as per official records which say that there are 76 consumers who are yet to be issued refills after they have made their bookings.
Eight applications for new LPG connection are also pending.
Meanwhile, one consumer from Bashikhong has questioned the inaction of IOC even after the deceitful practices of many LPG distributors have been exposed.
He went on to ask if the IOC is waiting for massive uproar from the consumers.
He asked as to why distributors have not provided detailed information like the amounts required for registration of new connection with single cylinder or double cylinder, lists of consumers eligible for taking refills on the days of distributing refills etc.
Conveying deep appreciation of the ongoing campaign "Wanted Cooking Gas, Not Laughing Gas", another consumer from Sega Road remarked that Imphal West Students' Club, Khumbong took a very significant when they made one local LPG distributor confess his/her wrongdoings to the public.
He also expressed keen desire for all consumers to monitor refill distribution by their respective distributors.
