Mother, child health awareness campaign taken to Tamei

Imphal, December 17 2015:
Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of I&B, Govt of India, Tamenglong and Ukhrul unit organised a one day special awareness programme on Mother and Child Health +A & Mission Indradhanush 2015-16 at Tamei headquarters on Dec 5 last.
Pr Guisinang, Vice-Chairman, ADC Tamenglong, Wilubou Newmai, social activist and Dr Robin, MO, PHC Tamei attended the programme as the chief guest, guest of honour and resource person respectively, according to a statement.
Dr Engam Pame, IIS delivered the keynote address while NG Kumuiteu, principal, ITS said the exhortation.
Speaking at the occasion, Pr Guisinang stressed the need to bring unity among the Zeliangrongs so as to related issues.
In his keynote address, Dr Engam Pame emphasised the need to bring major changes in infrastructure development in interior and neglected areas like Tamei.
He said that health of mother and child depends on good roads.
Ng Kumuiteu said that men should abstain from intoxicants in order that the society has healthy babies.
Dr Robin Chiru spoke at length about mother and child health and Mission Indradhanush.
Around 500 people including children attended the function.
Winners of the healthy bab.y competition were presented prizes by Dr Engam Pame, the statement added.
