Imphal, December 17 2015:
Committee on Protection of Tribal Rights, Chandel has said that the job card holders of the district are facing financial problems due to non-release of MGN REGS wages by the authority concerned.
In a statement, the committee said that they have met the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Account Officer of DRDA in this regard.
However, instead of taking prompt action, these officers cited absence of staff as the reason for non-release of wages, the committee said.
As such, the committee would demand transfer of these officers from the district if they fail to initiate steps to clear the due wages before Christmas festival.
