Kangpokpi, December 17 2015:
Kuki Students' Organization (KSO), Imphal has expressed strong displeasure over the decision of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) to host the 100th birth anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu tomorrow.
General secretary of KSO, Imphal Shon Baite said that it is not against the observation of the birth anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu but Indira Gandhi National Tribal University's decision to host the birth centenary anniversary of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu tomorrow smacks of biasness and partiality.
According to Shon Baite, the university authority had warned the students that no internal assessment marks will be given if they fail to turn out for the event.
While strongly condemning the alleged sinister design of IGNTU authority, Shon Baite said that the KSO is not against the observation of the anniversary but the decision of IGNTU to host an event in favour of one particular community is unexpected.
The student body also vehemently decried IGNTU directives towards the students and asked IGNTU authority to reconsider its directives so as to avoid misunderstanding among the university authority and the student community.
