24-hour chakka handh ends

The 24-hour chakka bandh called by the JAC against the killing of Sagolsem Nelton of Langathel Leikai on December 12 concluded yesterday moming, reports our correspondent.
Though no untoward incident was reported, normal traffic was paralysed along Imphal-Moreh road at Khongjom.
In order to avoid any unwanted incident, Khongjom police personnel, Thoubal district police commandos and 2nd AR personnel had to intervene and disperse a large number of bandh supporters who were gathered at Khongjom Bazar.
The JAC constituted against the killing of Sagolsem Nelton also met Wangjing Tentha AC MLA P Brojen at his Wangjing residence.
During the meeting, the MLA assured of discussing the matter with the Chief Minister and take up necessary steps.
It may be noted that late Sagolsem Nelton was found dead at the bank of Ithei-Maru river at Pallel on December 12 .
