Solar lights, essential commodities distributed

Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed 6 solar lights to Biramangol College, Sawombung in Imphal East district on Monday to enhance security of the college during night.
According to PRO IGAR (S), Lamlai MLA K Ibomcha Singh, who was also present during the distribution ceremony, as well as College principal, staff and students expressed profound gratitude to the Assam Rifles for extending help and support.
It may be mentioned that Assam Rifles conducts various welfare and developmental activities to win the hearts of the local populace and boost the image of the armed forces among the common people.
Meanwhile, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (South) interacted with youth of 'Reformation and Progressive Trust (Rehabilitation Centre)' and distributed essential commodities at Company Operating Base (COB), Komlakhong in Bishnupur district on Monday under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign.
The COB took the opportunity to help approximately 30 local youths of Reformation and Progressive Trust of Komlakhong village and also distributed essential commodities.
The aim of interaction was to impart knowledge regarding alcohol addiction, drug abuse, ill effects of drugs and its negative consequences in human body.
The focus was also on solutions for addicts to come out of it and resettle in their life with a positive attitude.
The event was one of the numerous activities undertaken by the Loktak Battalion to ensure well-being of the local populace and alleviate their hardships.
The initiative was an act of force multiplier to the organisation's thought of always standing to the motto of "Friends of the NE People" .
