CRAU crush B Hawk by 92 runs in Elite Tournament

CRAU (Khamnam Bazar) handed Blue Hawk a crushing 92-run defeat in their MNCA Elite Tournament league encounter at Oriental College on Monday.
Electing to bat, CRAU shrugged off top-order collapse to post a competitive 220/7 in their 40 overs.
After their openers Sanatomba K (0) and Johny Kh (10), followed by No 3 Ph Jodash (9) got dismissed cheaply, the partnership of Ronil Potshangbam and Khangenbam Bimol stabilised the CRAU innings.
Ronil's brilliant 72 off 66 balls, laced with 10 fours and two sixes, and Bimol's unbeaten 40, coupled with Mehtab Jamal's 43, Lamabam Ajay's 15 and Johny Kh's 10 helped CRAU post 220 that they comfortably defended.
The Khamnam bazar squad's top three batters were removed by Samsung Heisnam, who clean bowled both opener Sanatomba for a duck and No 3 Jodash (9), while Johny (10), who batted at No 2, fell LBW to Wakambam Samson.
For Blue Hawk, Samsung Heisnam finished with three scalps, Jitendra Bishan Thakur claimed three, and Ningombam Jackiechan Singh and Wakambam Samson accounted for one each.
Man of the match, Mehtab Jamal led the CRAU's disciplined bowling that ended Blue Hawk's run chase in 36.5 overs for 128.Mehtab removed both the openers before adding to two more wickets to his tally.
Ayekpam Uttam also impressed with the ball, claiming three scalps while Takhellambam Kala, Lamabam Ajay and Heisnam Joyhenba bagged one each in their triumph.
For Blue Hawk, Ningombam Jackiechan top-scored with 49.A Guniram (15), N Ajit (14) and Jitendra Bishan (13) were other run-getters in double digits.
