National Jal Jeevan Mission team inspects implementation status in State

Imphal, February 27 2023:
A team from National Jal Jeevan Mission, Government of lndia, visited Manipur from February 21 to 24, 2023 to inspect the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the field and to extend technical assistance to expedite the implementation with focus on prudent investment.
In a press release, the Chief Engineer, PHED, Govt of Manipur informed that the team comprised of Vikas Srivastava, Under Secretary, NJJM, DDWS, MOJS; Rana Ramesh Singh, Team Leader, PHE, NJJM; Manoj Gupta, Senior Infrastructure Specialist, PHE, NJJM and Dinesh Kumar Upadhya, National Wash Expert, NJJM.
They visited villages of Imphal West and Chandel District on February 22 and 23 respectively.
During the visit, they inspected the implementation of water supply projects taken up under JJM (Jal Jeevan Mission) and NDB (New Development Bank) in the field and interacted with GPS/VWSCS members , local Community, ISA (Implementation Support Agency), TPIA (Third Party Inspection Agency), Work Agency and PHED officials focusing on community participation, IEC activities, quality of construction, quality and quantity of water supplied to public which are main parameters for successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Later they interacted with the Deputy Commissioner of Chandel and Imphal West and discussed on timely completion of the project.
The team also visited the District Laboratory of Imphal West PHE Division, Chandel PHE Division and State Laboratory of PHED at Lamphel.
On the last day of the visit which was on February 24, 2023, the team debriefed the outcome of the site visit to the Secretary PHE, which was attended by the Chief Engineer PHED and other officials of PHED.
