Patton, who has been in active politics for 40 years, urged all to go to their villages, prepare for the polls and cast their votes in favour of the BJP candidate.
He further said: "It is fortunate that NH-2 runs in the heart of Senapati but it is sad to see lack of development in the town because the district hasn't elected their representatives from the ruling political party", adding, "If one wants development, BJP is the only option".
Speaking on the occasion, Yuh Jonathan Tao, BJP candidate for the seat of 47-Karong AC, reiterated that the party ticket was awarded to him to serve the public but he cannot do anything if the people do not cast their votes for him.
He then assured of bringing development and create job opportunities for the educated unemployed youth of the region if he got elected.
Kazheto Kinimi said that people of Manipur had seen all the development works being implemented during the BJP's 5-year rule and the changes the party brought in the region while cautioning that people would be in misery if the ruling party was not elected.
In their speeches, Dr Longrineken claimed that BJP-led government had brought various developments in the northeast, not only in Manipur while Temjen said that election is a time to choose a representative to fulfil people's aspirations and dreams.
BJP candidate in 47-Karong AC Jonathan Tao worked for the party for almost 20 years, is known by everybody and by leaders of national and state, Temjen Imna continued, adding that an independent candidate does not have head and tail, Congress party which in the opposition has no future and NPF candidate will only join the BJP in the government formation.
Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the entire northeast has been transformed.
The extent of development brought in the region is much more than what was done during Congress' 60-year rule.
The roads are getting wider and railways reaching Manipur, Temjen Imna said and maintained that the BJP-led government introduced many schemes and projects like free rice, health insurance for BPL families.
He asked the people to join hands with BJP in the journey of bringing development and peace and removing hunger and unemployment from the region.
