Houses vandalised

A group of unidentified people suspected to be supporters of a rival political party vandalised three houses and one car belonging to JD (U) workers at Khangabok at around 12 am, today.
Reportedly, the group also threatened the JD (U) workers of dire consequences if they come out to exercise their franchise.
The persons whose properties have been vandalised are Thokchom Biren from Khangabok Bazar, M Ibemhal Devi and Kh Shyamo from Khangabok Sorok Wangma.
The miscreants also damaged one car parked at the residence of M Ibemhal Devi.
Denouncing the attack, a sit-in protest was staged at Khangabok Sorok Wangma.
There, one of the protesters stated that certain armed individuals who identified themselves supporters of a political party not only vandalised the houses and the car but also intimidated the victims to not come out on the election on March 5 if they care for their lives.
Claiming that workers of a political party in Khangabok have been intimidating the supporters of other parties especially in the late hours, she asked if the authorities are afraid of bringing them to book.
Another protester stated that her house was vandalised for not handing over a postal ballot of her daughter to the said political party.
