Christmas, New Year gifts presented to villagers

With the coming of Christmas and New Year celebration, Imphal Moreh Highway Welfare Committee (IMOHWCO) presented gifts (tea and sugar) to the people of the villages located alongside Imphal-Moreh Road from Pallel to Moreh on Wednesday.
Members of the committee led by its president Laishram Subhash along with advisor Joy Ngangom visited the villages and handed over the gifts through the respective churches.
The presentation of gifts began from the residence of former advisor of the committee late Telvum Holkhokai Haokip located at H Wajang, Pallel as a mark of respect.
Speaking in this regard, Subhash recalled that several unwanted activities like looting, blockade, etc., took place frequently along Imphal-Moreh road and further informed that the committee is formed by chiefs of villages located along the highway with like-minded individuals so as to prevent such unwanted incidents.
Celebrating the bond of love between the hills and the valley, presentation of Christmas and New Year gifts to the villagers through churches has been done since 2007, Subhash said, while extending Christmas and New Year greetings to all and wishing for ushering in communal harmony and prosperity in Manipur.
