Personality improvement must for youth: Minister Basanta

Students, particularly the youth, are the future pillars of the society.
As such, it is important to improve their personality in all aspects, Education minister Th Basantakumar has stated.
He made the statement while speaking as chief guest of the inaugural function of a two-day international conference on 'Innovative Practices in Business, Education and Environment for Sustainable Development in Post Covid-19 Pandemic', which is being organised jointly by Biramangol College and NG Manipur College at the premises of the former on Wednesday.
Minister Basanta continued that in addition to learning about academic diction, paper writing and others, the youth also need to be taught soft skills.
He then urged the students and teachers to interact with experts attending the conference so as to help increase their confidence level and knowledge.
Stating that language will be a key issue in bringing unity and integrity in the state, the minister said that Manipur is a mini-India and as such, knowing the languages of other commu nities will not only resolve all miscommunications but also help in strengthening the bond of brotherhood among the Communities.
Presided over by Biramangol College principal Dr A Surenjit, the inaugural function was also attended by Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha, NG Mani College principal Dr W Jibankumar, MU Department of Vocational and Skill Development head Prof Dr Ch Ibohal and Department of Commerce head Prof N Tejmani as guests of honour.
