Governor, bodies mourn mishap casualties

Governor La Ganesan, Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Th Satyabrata Singh, Komrem Students' Union, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union, All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM), All Naga Students' Manipur (ANSAM), All Manipur Muslim Girls Students' Union (AMMGSU), Social and Economic Development Organisation (SEDO), Private Schools' Development Council (PSDC), Thoubal district and Kekru Yairi Club, Yairipok have extended their deepest condolences over the demise of students, teacher and warden of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yairipok in a road accident at Longsai village in Noney district on Wednesday.
In his message, Governor La Ganesan expressed deep shock that the annual educational excursion the School ended in a tragic manner.
While conveying his condolences to the bereaved family members, the Governor prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family members to bear the loss and speedy recovery of those injured students.
Speaker Th Satyabrata Singh, in a release, said that he is shocked to hear the news of the accident causing dead to some unfortunate students and staffers of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School.
On the other hand, in separate releases, Komrem Students' Union, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union, ATSUM, ANSAM, AMMGSU, SEDO, PSDC, Thoubal district and Kekru Yairi Club, Yairipok condoled the loss of precious lives in the tragic accident.
While praising everyone who as extended their helping hands in the rescue operation, the bodies prayed for peaceful rest of the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, under the instruction of Chief Minister N Biren, a team of BJYM led by BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson M Asnikumar assessed condition of the injured students who are undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity hospital.
Speaking to the media, Asnikumar hailed Health minister Dr Ranjan, works minister Govindas Konthoujam and officials for visiting the accident spot and joining in the rescue operation.
Informing that the state government as well as BJP will extend all possible assistance, Asnikumar expressed his condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
United Association of Recognised (Pvt) Schools of Manipur (UAR-SOM) has appealed to all schools in Manipur to plan and observe a condolence service (at their convenience) and upload photos on WhatsApp groups and social media to show solidarity to the bereaved families.
The association also reiterated its stand to support the school, management and teaching fraternity in this time of anguish and desolation.
