BJP to field candidates for ADC elections in Manipur

Manipur BJP president Th Chaoba announced on Tuesday that the party would field its candidates for the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections in the five hill districts expecting next February.
BJP Manipur Pradesh's stake will be visible in the coming ADC Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections, Chaoba said while welcoming former minister K Tomba Singh and Chandel ADC Member BS Rejonson who formally joined the party at a simple function at the state BJP office.
The former MP also said his party has already geared up for contesting the assembly polls due in 2017. Chaoba said the BJP wave has increased in the state after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited it last Sunday.
"10 crore people have so far registered themselves in BJP across the country under the party's membership drive recently launched by National BJP President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi," he mentioned.
He said 75,000 people in the hill districts of Manipur have collected membership forms under the membership drive to join the state BJP which has enrolled 50,000 people in the valley districts up to now.
