'Lack of Devevelopment in Tribal Areas' begins

Imphal, December 02, 2014:
A two-day State level training programme on 'Lack of Development in Tribal Areas of Manipur' being organized by Manipur University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) under the sponsorship of Tribal Research Institute (TRI) commenced today at the conference hall of TRI, Chingmeirong in Imphal East.
K Moses Chalai, Commissioner (Cooperation) and Dr T Gangte, principal in-charge of Presidency College, Motbung graced the inaugural function as chief guest and guest of honor respectively.
Addressing the gathering, K Moses Chalai stated that people of the State should maintain cordial relationship with bank to award certain benefits like credit loan to initiate desire ventures rather than waiting for government's assistance.
He said that people should extend full support to projects taken up by the government meant for bringing in development in the State.
Attending as resource persons, Maremmei, Associate Professor of Tamenglong College; Dr Gaikhangam Riamei, faculty member of Human Rights, Manipur University; Leiyaphy Muivah, PhD in Economics; Eheu Newmai; KG Ngamgongrei and S Kammaliun Vaiphei spoke on relevant topics during the technical sessions of the programme.
