Training programme organised

A two-day State level training programme, organised by Manipur University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) on the topic, 'Lack of development in tribal areas of Manipur', has kick started at the conference hall of Tribal Research Institute (TRI) from today.
Cooperation Commissioner K Moses Chalai and Presidency College Principal in-charge Dr T Gangte graced the opening function as chief guest and president respectively.
K Moses Chalai while speaking at the function said that it is a welcome step to research various aspects of tribal life.
Saying that the research papers must be preserved for documentation, he exhorted the participants to tap benefits from the programme.
Convenor of the function, Prof Laldena said that the research papers would be helpful to Government and general public.
Associate Professor of Tamenglong College, Dr Kinthuijang Maremmei spoke on the topic, 'Lack of development in tribal areas of Manipur' as resource person at the programme held under the sponsorship of TRI.
MUTSU president Thohrii Poji and general secretary RK Gideon also attended the function.
