Chief Minister O Ibobi on Tuesday paid a visit to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS) to inspect its ongoing construction works and directed Director of the institute including concerned contractors entrusted with the works to complete the said construction works within December 20 of this year.

He was accompanied by Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar and Dr Ng Bijoy, MLA Khurai Constituency who is also the Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board.
Speaking to newspersons on sidelines of the visit, CM Ibobi asserted that the construction works have to be finished before the arrival of an inspection team of Medical Council of India (MCI), while adding that the inspection team may arrive anytime to inspect the institute.
Expressing apprehension that there will be hindrances in awarding recognition to MBBS and Nursing course in the medical institute if its construction works of different blocks are not completed in time, the CM asked authority of the institute to not dump waste materials in drains flowing in the northern part of the hospital.
