2nd Death Anniversary of Seram Mangi Singh to be observed on December 11

Akoijam Ibomcha Singh, Artiste (Meitei Pung) from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Imphal will be presented the 'Seram Mangi Singh Memorial Award (Culture), 2014' for his contributions towards the development of Manipuri Culture (Nat Sankirtan), said a release of Seram Mangi Singh Foundation today.
The award will be presented on the occasion of 2nd Death Anniversary of Late Seram Mangi Singh to be held on December 11 at the Auditorium of JNMDA, Imphal at 1.00 pm.
The Award is given every year by Seram Mangi Singh Foundation in different fields.
For the year 2015, Seram Mangi Singh Memorial Award will be presented to a student activist who contributes for the educational development of the state, informed the release.
As part of the observance, Prof.MC Arun, Department of Anthropology, Manipur University will deliver the 2nd Seram Mangi Singh Memorial Lecture on the topic "Nat Sankirtan and its contribution to Manipuri Culture'.
Shri B Jayantakumar Sharma, eminent lyricist and retired Asst Station Director of AIR Imphal; Shri Sagolsem Indrakumar Singh, eminent writer and retired Director of DDK Imphal; Shri A Kamson, retired News Reader of AIR Imphal; and Dr Ch Jamini Devi, eminent writer and former chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Women will attend the programme as presidium members.
Dr Khomdon Singh Lisam, social activist and retired Medical Superintendent of JNIMS will deliver Introductory Speech in the programme.
