FEGOCTA urges PM

Federation of Govt College Teachers' Association, Manipur (FEGOCTA) has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to transform higher education and establish national institutes in Manipur.
The college teachers' body submitted a memorandum to the PM on his visit to the State on Nov 30. The memo highlighted the alleged violation of UGC Regulations 2010 by the Govt of Manipur including the recruitment of three regular principals.
It urged the PM to direct the State Govt to recruit 25 regular principals, release the arrears for 58 months from Jan 1, 2006 to Oct 10, 2010 to the college teachers and to avail 80 percent reimbursement from the Central Govt as already done in 28 States of the country.
The other demands of the teachers include release of SCA and TA of college teachers for 48 months.
FEGOCTA also requested the PM to establish one IIT, a National Institute of Mass Communication, one Institute of South East Asian Studies and one National Institute of NE States at Imphal.
