Youth leadership programme held

A three-day training programme on youth leadership and community development concluded today at Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra, Mayeng Lamjao Gram Panchayat, Thoubal district.
W Rita Devi, IEC Promoter, Population Health Services (India) delivered a speech on role of youth in prevention of HIV/AIDS in the district.
She also mentioned about the promotion of condom for prevention of HIV.
K Lokendro Singh, DACYP Member, NYK Thoubal highlighted various programmes and schemes available under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Education and awareness programmes and various training including Skill Upgradation training would help in shaping the youth to a productive and responsible citizen of the nation, he said.
Y Laksman Singh, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Thoubal highlighted the importance of organising the youth leadership training programme in the district.
He further said the training programme would attempt to provide the youth the basic quality of a leader.
During the training programme, various topics like personality development, role of youth in community development, life skills, leadership qualities among the youth were discussed through the methodology like ice breaking exercise, lecture, role play, open house discussion, question and answer session, public speaking.
