Chief Minister O Ibobi inspecting construction works at JNIMS

Imphal, December 02, 2014:
To ensure completion of infrastructure construction works of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) prior to Medical Council of India (MCI)'s inspection tour, Chief Minister O Ibobi today assessed progress of the construction works.
Chief Minister O Ibobi was accompanied by Works and Transport Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar and MLA Dr Ng Bijoy, who is also Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board.
The CM inspected the Accident and Trauma Unit, Girl's Hostel, new OPD block, newly constructed buildings, female ENT ward, drainage system and the main conference hall.

Saying that the MCI inspection team is bound to come at any time, the CM instructed the contractor concerned and Director of JNIMS to complete the construction works latest by December 20.The CM also instructed the authority concerned to prevent dumping of waste materials in the drain near JNIMS.
The inspection today assumed significance as the institute is likely to face a hitch in getting MCI approval of its MBBS and nursing courses if the requisite infrastructures are not put in place.
Later, the CM inspected the progress of construction of Manipur Information Technology at Koirengei.
