Kidnapper nabbed, girl rescued

A team of Imphal East police led by women police station OC inspector Gurumayum Geetanjali Devi arrested a non-local man who kidnapped a minor girl from Mantripukhri and also rescued the girl.
The police team nabbed the kidnapper namely Hansalal Kumar (29) son of Amira Rai of Dharharwa Chiraia of East Champaran, Bihar from Guwahati railway station.
According to a police source, father of the girl lodged a complaint oh September 10 at about 1pm stating that his 15-year old girl did not return home after she went for school on September 9 at about 7.30 am.
The complaint lodged at Imphal East women police station also said that the girl has been kidnapped by Hansalal Kumar, who resided in a rented accommodation at Mantripukhri near UCO bank building.
Soon after receiving the complaint, the police station registered a case and started investigation narrowed down on location of the kidnapper at Paltan bazar area near Guwahati railway station in Assam.
A team of the district police led by inspector Geetanjali and comprising Women SI Nambram Memtu Devi, ASI Thangjam Sanjay and constable Akoijam Kishorchand rushed to Guwahati on Sunday and managed to nab the kidnap per from Guwahati railway station at about 1.26pm and rescued the kidnapped minor girl.
Hansalal Kumar was produced before the court of CJM Kamrup (M) and secured transit remand for 14 days.
Accordingly, the police team brought the kidnapper and the rescued girl from Guwahati to Imphal on Monday.
