MIDH staffers Sikkim-bound

Imphal, September 12 2022:
Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation additional director and Mission for Integrated Development for Horticulture (MIDH) mission director K Deb-dutta Sharma flagged off a tour of technical staff of the department under MIDH to Sikkim from the department's office complex near Sanjenthong on Monday.
Speaking in this regard, K Debadutta informed that human resource development is one of the components of MIDH scheme.
As a part of the programme to tour outside the states under MIDH, the technical staff left Imphal for Sikkim, he added.
The main objective of visiting Sikkim is because the state is leading in floriculture and production of spices.
It also exported orchids to Singapore and Sikkim is the first to export large cardamom outside the country.
The knowledge gained by technical staff from their tour to Sikkim will again be shared with the extension workers of various districts of the state, he added.
The tour, which is being participated by 20 technical staff, is led jointly by MIDH officer in-charge Chungong Pamei and MIDH AAO Bikram Yumlembam.
