LS Trophy: KFA beat MT to enter quarterfinals

Kuki Football Academy (junior) team from reached the quarterfinal round after defeating Manipur Terri er 2-1 in a Group C encounter at Brig M Thomas Ground here bn Monday.
The KFA residential boys found the opener through Obed in the 52nd minute which was equalised by the army team through Achan in the 64th minute.
However, Lamgunlal's brilliant strike in the 66th minute gave the KFA junior team the winning goal to qualify for quarterfinal round.
The second match between YOSC Khurai and Taphou Football Club ended after a mild scuffle broke out owing to a controversial penalty kick given by the central referee in favour of YOSC Khurai.
Taphou FC had been leading the game 3-1 till the first half.
YOSC Khurai found their second goal in the second half and the central referee Ajit Singh gave a penalty kick in favour of YOSC after he booked one of the Taphou FC players for a handball.
It was when the mild scuffle broke out when the Taphou FC players protested over the referee's decision.
The organising committee then summoned managers and officials of both teams and finally decided to conduct the match for the remaining time of 15 minutes to commence with the penalty kick on Wednesday.
There will be no match tomorrow owing to the Kuki's Sahnit Ni.
On Wednesday, YOSC Khurai and Taphou FC play the remaining minutes be fore Sagolband United face FC Gorkha XI Manipur in the first match and Satkhohen & Sumkhomang Memorial Team clash with TYPOM Maohing in the second match.
The quarterfinal matches will begin on September 15 .
