SKY saves four lives under CMHT/PMJAY

SKY Hospital & Research Centre Pvt Ltd has saved the lives of four patients by providing and implanting life saving devices for closure of heart-holes under CMHT/Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) schemes on
September 2 .
In a release, SKY Hospital PRO Kh Bisheshwori Devi informed that a two-year old boy, son of Ngahanyui N Kashung from Ukhrul district, who was born with a large birth heart defect called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) and weighing only 9 kg was operated successfully and the PDA closed with a 10 mm size device at the hospital under the scheme of Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY).
Another 18-year girl, daughter of Hopeson from Senapati district, who was born with a large birth heart defect, called Ostium secundum Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) and was suffering from cough and breathlessness since birth, was successfully also implanted with a large American made Amplatzer device 40 mm in size for closing the ASD at the hospital under the PMJAY scheme.
On the other hand, the hospital successfully closed the heart defect of a teenager (15-yr), son of Laishram Dewan Singh of Luker in Imphal West district, who was bom with a large hole in heart called PDA.
The PDA was closed with 14 mm size device with the procedure performed without open heart surgery on September 2 at the Hospital under the scheme of CMHT, it mentioned.
The release also conveyed that a 45-year-old man, son of Kachang Haorei from Ukhrul district, who was born with a large ASD was also closed with 34 mm size device without open heart surgery at the Cath Lab of the Hospital under PMJAY.
SKY Hospital, Imphal chairman and chief cardiologist Dr L Shyamkishore Singh appealed to the people of Manipur and North Eastern states of India to be aware of such birth heart defects and availability of such device closure facility at SKY Hospital.
