Sikkim bound study tour of MIDH technical staff flagged off

A study tour of technical staff of Mission for integrated development of Horticulture (MIDH) bound for Sikkim was flagged off today.
The study tour which is organised by the Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation was flagged off by Mission Director MIDH, K Debadutta Sharma from the Directorate's office at Sanjenthong.
The team consisting of 20 technical staff from different districts of the State was led by Officer in-charge MIDH, Chungong Pamei and AAO, MIDH, Bikram Yumlembam.
Speaking in connection with the study tour, K Debadutta Sharma said that the tour has been organised to provide a platform for the technical staff to gain knowledge outside the State.

He further stated that the study tour is a part of the human resources development component of Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), a centrally sponsored scheme.
Sikkim is an advancing State in terms of floriculture and spices and they also export different varieties of orchids in the country and abroad, therefore the tour is bound for Sikkim, he added.
He continued that the technical staff will share the gained knowledge to the extension workers at district level after the tour to ensure that effective farming is practiced in the State.
