Covid positivity rate falls to 3.7 pc

Imphal, August 10 2022:
Thirty eight new Covid-19 cases were detected in the state out of 1,036 samples tested on Wednesday recording test positivity rate of 3.7 per cent.
Of the 38 new cases (20 males & 18 females), Churachandpur district accounted for the highest number of infection at 11 followed by Imphal West (9), Imphal East (7), Ukhrul (5), Senapati (2) and one case each in Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong districts.
On Wednesday, 26 people were discharged from home isolation (22) while two each recovered at RIMS and SHRI.
In all, 29 out of 38 Covid beds in JNIMS are vacant and 44 out of 62 remain vacant in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 2201 positive cases and 18 deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 372 new positive cases and nine fatalities.
A total of 114 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 11 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities on Tuesday, while 1,306 vaccine doses were administered, thus, taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 31,35,716, out of which 16,22,425 had been inoculated with first dose, 12,92,918 with second dose and 2,20,373 had taken the precautionary doses.
