Kakching, March 02 2022:
Congress candidate from Sugnu assembly constituency and sitting MLA Kangujam Ranjit has advised the chief minister to ponder before making irrational comments.
Speaking at an election meeting at Chairel Khongnang Leikai community hall under Sugnu AC on Wednesday, K Ranjit referred to the CM commenting that the road between Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu is in poor condition due to election of wrong representative.
In reality, the said road is a state highway and had highlighted condition of the road stretch in the assembly multiple times and appealed for repairing the same, but without any positive response by the BJP-led government, he said.
Ranjit continued that he has no qualms that roads -under the AC have not been repaired by the government as he is from opposition, but the said road is a state highway and should be maintained properly by successive governments.
He also contended that road stretch from Wabagai Lamkhai to Waikhong, which falls under Hiyanglam AC and is represented by a BJP MLA is worse that the Sugnu roads.
The INC candidate observed that CM frequently talks about how the BJP government and PM Narendra Modi provided free rice and Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic.
But when Congress party protested hike in prices of essential items, he (CM) reacted that price rise is necessary to generate revenue for providing free rice and vaccine.
The CM's response clearly corroborate that all the welfare schemes are being funded by the people's money and not from BJP's pocket, he pointed out.
Lambasting the CM for saying that state has seen improvement in law and order after coming of the BJP government, Ranjit claimed that law and order improved since the time of Congress government.
BJP claims that fake encounters stopped due to BJP government, but that has been refuted by human right activists who pointed out that it was due to their petition to the Supreme Court of India.
Despite this, BJP continues to harp that they stopped fake encounters, he said.
Ranjit also emphasised that work of Congress government is numerous, but the BJP government's only act is to create drama, advertise and rebrand the development works done by Congress.
CM's claim that in hrst phase of polls they will 30 seats out of 38 is totally wrong, in reality they will only eight seats.
All other seats will be won by Congress and its allies, he asserted.
The programme organised by Chairel GP Level Congress Election Campaign Committee was also attended by Kakching Zilla Parishad member-Wangoo ZP Constituency Moirangthem (o) Melody Leima, Committee members among others.
