Two Mizo flicks selected for MIFF

Two Mizo films have been selected to be screened at the upcoming Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF), one of the most popular Documentary, Short and Animation Film Festivals in the world.
Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is organised by Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting after every one year.
The Film Festival this year will be held at NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai from 3 to 9 February.
The two Mizo films that have been selected for the international film festival are 'Chengrang Lanu' (Lady Musket) and 'MNF: The Mizo Uprising' .
'Chengrang Lanu', directed and produced by Malsawmkima Chhangte, has been selected in the Short Film Competition (National) Category, while the other film, 'MNF: The Mizo Uprising, produced and directed by Napoleon RZ Thanga, for Films Division, in the Prism (non competitive) Documentary Film under 40 minutes category.
'Chengrang Lanu' has earlier bagged 2nd position at the 1st Mizo Short Film competition 2013 jointly organised by I & PR and Mizoram Films Development Society (MFDS) .
As per schedule, 'Chengrang Lanu' will be shown on February 8 between 4-5 pm at Godrej Theatre.
A total of 793 films entries have been received from 34 countries for the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) from different parts of the world, from which 19 Films have been selected in the Competition (National) Short Film Category; 5 Films in the category of Documentary Film upto 40 minutes; 10 Films in the category of Documentary Film above 40 minutes; 10 Films at International competition, animation; 14 Films in the category of long documentary film; 6 Films in the category of short documentary film; 7 Films in short film category.
In Prism (non competitive) National category, 5 Films have been selected for Short Documentary and 12 films for long documentary, and 10 Films for Prism International Category.
Expressing gratitude for the elevation of the Mizo films to national level competition, Director I &PR Jim K.Chozah credited I & PR and MFDS for the feat, saying this is the result of cooperative effort.
Taking opportunity, he invites like-minded Mizo youths to come forward in more numbers.
