PNTM tournament cum cultural regale

The XX Biennial Tournament cum Cultural Regale of the Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (Poumai Naga Students' Union) was kicked off at Maiba village, Senapati district on Jan 22 under the theme "Outreach Through Sports" .
Hoisting of PNTM flag and unveiling of monolith to commemorate the event marked the inaugural function.
RS Hiilii Henry, Chairman, ADC, Senapati attended the function as the chief guest while PK Jha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati was the guest of honour.
Thousands of delegates took part during the inaugural ceremony which was held at the village located around 35 kms away from Senapati district headquarters.
In his presidential address, Abraham Ngade, president of PNTM said that the tournament was organised with an aim to promote unity, peace, harmony and development.
He also pointed out that 'division', 'political rancour', 'backbiting' etc are some elements that block the progress and unity of the Poumais.
He also hinted that without unity there cannot be progress.
PK Jha, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati motivated the students to be guided by the spirit of unity, friendship and strive towards the progression of the district, State and the nation.
He also encouraged the students to work hard and excel in life without hesitation to join the modern arena of competition.
RS Hiilii Henry, Chairman, ADC, Senapati, exhorted the student's community to love one another, study hard and usher in development.
Maiba is a well set up medium size village located at the heart of Poumai land which is hosting the premier event of the Poumai Naga Students sports meet cum cultural regale.
The event will come to a close on Feb 1 .
