Imphal, January 23 2014 :
Yet another discrepancy in the latest electoral roll publication has cropped up with Ahongsangbam Mobi Singh, former president of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union, and his entire family members found missing from the roll, thus likely to invalidate the Ahongsangbam family from exercising their franchise right.
According to Mobi, presently president of Editors' Guild Manipur, himself, his better half namely A Ibemhal and son Roger were among the voters of 5/9 polling station under 5-Thongju AC when the electoral roll was published in 2011 and duly posses electoral voter identity cards.
However, in the revised electoral roll published in january 2012 the Ahongsangbam trio were not enlisted constraining the family patriarch to intimate the matter to the then CEO PC Lawmkunga and Jt CEO N Prabin at a programme on SVEEP (systematic voters education and electoral participation) .
the intimation to the State's top election officials has seemingly not yielded any positive result as the names were still found missing in the latest publication (2013) of the electoral roll despite complying with prescribed norms for fresh process of enrolment through the Booth Level Officer, said Mobi who regretted that inspite of his active involvement in various SVEEP programmes voting right enshrined in the Constitution of India has been compromised due to alleged incompetency of the State election office.
